Highlights from the Together for Care gala, where our community gathered to support the WRHN Foundation and local healthcare.

It was a privilege to attend this year's Together for Care event, an evening dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the new hospital in Waterloo. The room was filled with supporters, local business leaders, and dedicated healthcare professionals all united by a common goal. We enjoyed an elegant dinner paired with beautiful performances from a pianist and singer, making for a truly memorable night.

I was proud to be a sponsor and to contribute behind the scenes and even happier to capture some of the moments that made the evening so special.

Events like these highlight the strength of our Waterloo Region community and the impact we can have when we rally behind a shared cause. Seeing the WRHN Foundation bring so many people together for this fundraiser serves as a reminder of how vital it is to support our local health infrastructure. It was inspiring to witness the commitment to improving care for everyone in our region.

There are some great stories coming together behind the scenes of Together for Care.

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time at Surmesur as Dr. Al Qahwash, Director of the Regional Cardiac and Critical Care Program at Waterloo Regional Health Network, was fitted for his look for the upcoming Together for Care fashion show.

Surmesur is also one of the local sponsors helping make this special evening possible and a great example of what Loving Local is all about. Local businesses, interesting people and our community coming together around something that matters.

I’m proud to be a sponsor and part of the team of Together for Care myself. I’ve been helping tell some of the stories behind the event through video. Getting to meet the people involved, visit the businesses supporting it and share a little of what’s happening behind the scenes has been one of my favourite parts.

Together for Care takes place September 17th at St. George’s Hall, bringing local businesses and community members together for an evening of food, fashion and connection all in support of the new hospital in Waterloo and WRHN.

The Waterloo Region housing market slowed in July, while buyers continued to have considerably more choice than we’ve historically seen at this time of year.

📊 July at a glance:
• 582 homes sold
• $706,240 average sale price
• 1,167 new listings
• 3.9 months of inventory
• 33 average days on market

For some perspective, the 10-year July average is just 1.92 months of inventory. The additional current choice is giving many buyers more time to make decisions and putting greater emphasis on pricing and presentation for sellers.

Micro Markets Matter Most.

What's happening across Waterloo Region isn't necessarily what's happening with a particular property.
Kitchener can differ from Waterloo or Cambridge. One neighbourhood can behave differently from another. Detached homes, townhomes and condos can each experience different levels of demand and price range matters as well.

This morning I had the opportunity to stop by the annual Conestoga College Pre-Service Fire Fighting car wash fundraiser in support of Food4Kids Waterloo Region.

These future firefighters weren't just washing cars they were giving their time and energy to help ensure local children have access to nutritious food on weekends and during school breaks.

It's always encouraging to see young people stepping up to make a real difference in our community.
A big thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and stopped by to support this fantastic cause.

Your generosity helps Food4Kids continue its important work for families across Waterloo Region.
It's moments like these that remind me why I love being part of this community.

This weekend I was happy to volunteer at the Rotary Waterloo Ribfest, helping raise funds that go right back into our community through local grants and charitable initiatives.
